Tomasz Górnicki-en

Tomasz Górnicki is undoubtedly one of the most talented and recognisable young sculptors, known for his critical approach to reality and his 'guerrilla' style. His sculptures appear unexpectedly in urban spaces, only to later disappear and reappear elsewhere. Working primarily with stone, steel, concrete and bronze, he focuses on emotions such as loneliness, alienation and loss. Drawing inspiration from Baroque and sacred art, his work often represents a personal confrontation with inner conflicts. He combines classical technique with bold social and political commentary. His interactive pieces often provoke thought in the viewer. Górnicki was the subject of Mariusz Szczygieł's book „Nie ma”, received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in 2009, and has exhibited his work in New York, London, and Paris, among other places.
